Fireflies

Les lucioles — The Fireflies by Henri Camille Danger (1896)

Fireflies argue in the dark
Sneakily, I hear the sounds of your wings
They beat in a hurry
And I know it’s spring time

There are days and nights
That not even poetry is enough
And I can’t see the fantasy anymore
And I just feel like a buff face without faith

On days like this
I just want to walk the hills
Floating through the skies
And watch the fireflies arguing
One more time
